Hege Borgersen Faber has a commercial background from the fashion industry, where she has been working with management of both retail and wholesale businesses. Her main responsibilities have been Brand, Sales and Marketing Management for international markets, in Europe and abroad. Hege has broad knowledge about retail and wholesale mechanisms as well as international relations – with a strong focus on processes, communication and structuring.
After nearly 20 years in the fashion industry, Hege decided to change her course: “I was tired of not working for a higher purpose than just earning money for shareholders. When I met The Organic Company and the people behind it, I found what I had been missing – a company with real values, that I share, and a mission to make a difference. You might say I professionally fell in love in The Organic Company, and here I am.”

Who is Hege, when she’s off duty?
I try to be Hege both on and off duty. But off duty, and besides just being Hege; I am a mom, a wife, a friend, a runner, a hobby gardener and much more.
What’s your motto in life?
There is still a Pippi Longstocking within me, and her two quotes “I have never tried that before, so I think I should definitely be able to do that” and ”if you are strong, you must also be very kind” are mine as well.
How is it to be in a company meditating regularly?
I think it is great to be part of a company that considers sustainability from many different angels, and meditation is one part of this. We try to meditate every week, and I think this is important especially in the periods we feel there is no time for meditation.
What’s your favourite TOC product?
There are so many. I really love the simplicity of genius products like kitchen and wash cloths and food bags, where design, quality and functionality is perfectly united. However the 6-layer soft blanket is the ultimate favourite in my home.
Where do you see TOC in 5 years?
5 years from now I believe that TOC is still going strong with our mission and growing our business. Hopefully GOTS production is demanded by all consumers, and we are the front-runner in the next sustainable move.
