IT IS ALL ABOUT THE BALANCE

One summer day in 2002, my mind opened towards an inner journey. A journey that has continued ever since. I signed up for a yogi summer course, consisting of yoga, breathing exercises and meditation. And for the first time, I really felt myself. My body, mind and ego relaxed and a content feeling came over me. Suddenly I noticed the small things and a sense of inner peace. I was present. And it felt so good.

I enjoy life instead of being trapped in the past or in the future
It’s special and precious to me. And I am very grateful to have been introduced to inner tools like these. I enjoy life instead of being trapped in the past or in the future. It’s hard sometimes because I immediately feel when I am not in balance or present, and I have to deal with that on top of what is putting me out of balance in the first place. : )

This is the opposite to 20 years ago. Then, I had different priorities.
Now the most luxurious things in my life are silence retreats with meditation from dawn to dusk, vegan food and a reconnection with nature. Ohh, I love it. Honestly, I would have laughed out loud if somebody predicted this about me 20 years ago.

Today it’s like salvation and a full body and mind cleanse. It’s a really good gift (although it’s actually hard work letting go and being silent for several days with no entertainment at all).

I believe in everything being connected, with an energy, freedom and the strength of being present.

The reason why the yogi lifestyle is my answer is because it’s based on these 5 elements, that to me make so much sense:

  • Meditation
  • Breathing exercises
  • Exercise (yoga)
  • Food (healthy and fresh, no meat, no coffee, no alcohol)
  • Thinking (overall life advise; “the present moment is inevitable”)

The 5 elements together make you balanced. I can sign to this.
However, I am not a fanatic nor a slave to a schedule, I feel that the above tools are available to me and to some extent incorporated in my life.
So I enjoy being present - while drinking a glass of wine : )

The above tools are free from religion, they can be adapted to suit every individual, I value the freedom in this aspect as well.

I wanted to introduce and enhance well-being in The Organic Company, I took classes in mindfulness and as a meditation guide, I have learned how to communicate and pass the good feelings on to those around me.

In TOC we meditate every week for those who are up for it. It’s a personal choice. : )

Namasté!
