Article: GOTS certificeringen

GOTS certificeringen
All our cotton products are made from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, and they have been for many years.
The reason we are GOTS-certified is that this standard is strict, thorough, and reliable. Under the GOTS standard, the entire supply chain is certified and monitored, including laboratory testing, which has been tightened even further in version 7. Up to the brand level, all inspection visits are unannounced.
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the world’s leading standard for organic fibres, covering both environmental and social criteria.
The purpose of the standard is to ensure organic integrity in every aspect, while also protecting the welfare of workers, from the harvesting of the cotton to the manufacturing process, providing credible assurance to the end consumer. It is a guarantee that the textiles are produced with respect for both nature and people, and that they are free from harmful chemicals.
Why are we certified, and how does this align with our purpose
Conventional cotton production is toxic to the soil, insects, birds, and to everyone who comes into contact with the cotton, especially the workers. It is deeply destructive and wrong in every sense.
So the question is: how can we meet the desire and need to buy new products without causing unnecessary harm? Not everything can be found second-hand. Everyday essentials such as dishcloths and towels, for example, are often difficult to source used.
This is where our purpose comes in:
- To produce in a genuinely responsible way.
- To replace disposable products with fewer, longer-lasting textiles.
- To replace poorly made textiles with better alternatives.
- To encourage our customers to buy less, but buy better.
- To promote and expand an organic way of living.
