VORES REJSE
The past
How questions became action.
En måde at træffe valg på
From the first questions to a regenerative future.
Our journey has always been about uniting design, responsibility and long-term thinking.
Founder
It started with a question
“I see a world out of balance. We need to face the real problems out there.”
For Joy Vasiljev, it all started with a question: why was it so hard to find textiles that combined good design with organic materials?
That question became the start of The Organic Company in 2007. A company created from the desire to prove that responsibility and good business can go hand in hand.
It wasn’t an easy start. The world wasn’t ready, and few knew about the consequences of the conventional cotton industry.
Today, Joy is an important voice in the conversation about responsible consumption and organic living.
“Good intentions are not enough. Change requires action.”

The present
How responsibility shapes what we do today.
Mission
Our mission is to unite design and ecology.
We create textiles with consideration for both people and the environment, with an ambition to prove that responsibility and good business can go hand in hand.
For us, it's not just about creating products, but about contributing to a better way of producing, consuming and thinking about textiles.
Three basic principles
Organic as a starting point
We work with organic materials because materials matter. The choices we make from the beginning have consequences all the way through the product's life cycle.
All our products are GOTS certified.
Built to last
We believe in durability over quick replacements. Our products are designed to be used again and again, both functionally and aesthetically.
Longevity is an important part of responsible consumption.
Less is better
We believe in owning less, choosing better and using longer.
Less consumption and more conscious choices are a necessary counterbalance to overproduction and overconsumption.
More than products
Our work doesn't stop at what we produce.
We actively engage in conversations, communities and initiatives that create movement and share knowledge.
Through Repair Cafés, talks, education, community walks and collaborations with other responsible companies, we work to inspire new ways of thinking about consumption, care and business.
Because change rarely happens alone.
It happens when we learn, share and act together.
The future
How we work towards what comes next.
Regenerative business
Change requires more than products.
It requires conversations, learning and joint movement.
We will continue to share our experiences, invite students and collaborate with companies that want to rethink the way we produce and consume.
Because we believe that when knowledge is shared, the possibilities for real change grow.
Circular thinking
We want to extend the lifespan of the products we create.
That means thinking beyond sales. Through sustainable design, better care, repair and responsible use.
We believe that the most responsible product is often the one that already exists.
That's why we work to make it easier to care for, repair and keep what we own.
Sharing knowledge
Change requires more than products.
It requires conversations, learning and joint movement.
We will continue to share our experiences, invite students and collaborate with companies that want to rethink the way we produce and consume.
Because we believe that when knowledge is shared, the possibilities for real change grow.

The journey continues
Our journey began with questions.
It continues with responsibility, curiosity and the will to do better.
We don’t believe in perfect solutions.
But we believe in conscious choices. In long-term thinking. And that small actions, repeated over time, can create real change.
As a company, we are still in motion.
We are constantly learning, developing and challenging the way we work.
Because responsibility is not a destination.
It is a journey.
And we have only just begun.
